What is Lenacapavir?

Lenacapavir is a long-acting antiretroviral drug used to treat and prevent HIV. It belongs to a class of drugs called capsid inhibitors. Unlike older HIV medications that require daily pills, Lenacapavir is taken as an injection only twice a year. That means just two doses every 12 months – making it one of the most convenient options available today.
