How to Apply for the Hustler Fund in Kenya

The Hustler Fund, a key pledge from the Kenya Kwanza government, offers affordable loans ranging from Ksh.500 to Ksh.50,000 at a daily interest rate of 0.002% (or 8% annualized). This fund is meant to support millions of Kenyans—especially those previously locked out of credit due to blacklisting.

Dial *254# on your phone to access Hustler Fund or use your mobile network’s app.

Step-by-Step Registration Process

  • Dial *254# or open your mobile network's Hustler Fund app.
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions.
  • Enter your mobile money PIN.
  • You will receive an SMS confirmation upon successful registration.

How to Apply for a Hustler Fund Loan

  • Dial *254# or open the app.
  • Select “Request Loan” option.
  • View your limit, interest rate, and loan duration.
  • Enter your desired loan amount and confirm.
  • Enter your mobile money PIN.
  • You will receive an SMS with loan allocation details.

Loan Disbursement & Savings Split

When a loan is approved:

  • 95% of the amount is sent to your mobile wallet.
  • 5% is saved in your Hustler Fund savings account.

The 5% savings are split as:

  • 70% to long-term pension savings.
  • 30% to short-term savings.
Example: If you borrow Ksh.1,000
→ Ksh.950 goes to your wallet
→ Ksh.35 to pension
→ Ksh.15 to short-term savings

No processing fee is charged for the Hustler Fund.
