How to buy Airtel airtime using Mpesa.

There are two ways of buying Airtel credit or airtel airtime using Mpesa as shown below.


Method 1

Go to the Mpesa Menu
Select Pay Bill
Enter Business No:- 439999
Enter Account No:- Airtel Mobile number, then press OK
Enter the Amount of airtime, you wish to buy and then press OK.
Enter your MPesa PIN
Then hit send After entering your Mpesa pin,
confirm your details and then press OK.
You will receive an SMS from Mpesa and from CHAPCHAP confirming the purchase. This method usually is usually the most preferable since its faster and easier. Buying Airtel airtime using this method is usually free.

Method 2

Go to the Mpesa Menu
Select Pay Bill
Enter Business No. 220220
Enter Account No. AIRTXXXXXX (Where XXXXXX is your Airtel Mobile number), then press OK
Enter the Amount of airtime, you wish to buy and then press OK.
Enter your MPesa PIN
Then hit send After entering your Mpesa pin,
confirm your details and then press OK.
You will receive an SMS from Mpesa and from PAYPAL confirming the purchase.
 This method usually a bit slower. Buying Airtel airtime using this method is usually free.
